Play Pass Terms

CHUCK E. CHEESE’S IS PROUD TO OFFER ITS GUESTS WITH PLAY PASS A CARD (THE “PLAY PASS”) THAT ALLOWS YOU TO PLAY GAMES AT PARTICIPATING CHUCK E. CHEESE’S LOCATIONS IN THE UNITED STATES (“PARTICIPATING LOCATION(S)”).

These terms and conditions (the “Terms & Conditions”) govern all Play Pass cards and their use. Play Pass, including all administration related thereto, is provided by CEC Entertainment Concepts, L.P. or its affiliates, parents, or subsidiary companies (collectively “Chuck E. Cheese’s,” “we,” “us,” “our,” “ours”). By purchasing, recharging, or using Play Pass, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions, and your use shall be subject to these Terms & Conditions, as they may be amended from time to time, without further notice to you. You can obtain the latest version of these Terms & Conditions at the cashier or at the play pass terms and conditions page.

General Information

A Play Pass is a card with a radio frequency identification chip which, depending on the price of the game or the amount of time remaining on the card (for All You Can Play purchases), can activate the selected game inside Chuck E. Cheese’s. Each game located at Participating Locations requires either a specified number of Play Points or time remaining on the Play Pass to play the Game(s). The Play Points required to play each Game will be displayed on the card reader located on each Game.

The Play Pass can be used only at Participating Locations.

CHUCK E. CHEESE’S IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST, STOLEN OR DAMAGED PLAY PASS CARD CONTAINING PLAY POINTS OR TIME.

ANY RESALE OR OTHER TRANSFER OF A PLAY PASS FOR CONSIDERATION WILL RENDER THE PLAY PASS AND ASSOCIATED PLAY POINTS BALANCES VOID AND SUBJECT TO CANCELLATION.

YOUR PLAY PASS IS NON-REFUNDABLE AND WILL NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BE REDEEMED FOR CASH, EXCEPT WHERE REQUIRED BY LAW.

Chuck E. Cheese’s reserves the right not to accept a Play Pass or otherwise limit use of the Play Pass if it believes the use is unauthorized, fraudulent or otherwise unlawful or violates these Terms & Conditions.

You will not be sent statements of itemized transactions involving your Play Pass.

Purchasing a Play Pass

You can obtain a Play Pass in three ways (note that all sales and use tax is included in your Play Pass purchase):

  • Play Pass Kiosk.   You may purchase Play Pass by simply following the on-screen prompts at the kiosk.
  • At the Cashier Station.  You may purchase a Play Pass alone or as part of a Value Deal or Play Pass package by either a credit card, Chuck E. Cheese’s gift card or cash from authorized Chuck E. Cheese’s employees, including but not limited to Cashier or Manager (collectively, “Authorized Employee(s)”); or
  • Reserved Birthday Party.  You may also purchase Play Pass as part of a reserved Birthday Party package.

All You Can Play

When purchasing a Play Pass you will have the option of selecting All You Can Play, also known as AYCP for short.  All You Can play works like this, you purchase a certain amount of time during which that Play Pass can activate any game.  No points to track!  Just good clean continuous fun! Make the most of your time by pausing your play to eat or take a restroom break. Then simply resume play at the kiosk when you are ready to start again. Please note though, that All You Can Play time purchased is only valid for the date of purchase and will expire at the end of that day.

Play Pass Bands

Beginning in August 2018, we will offer Play Pass bands at a cost of $7.99 each (not including taxes), which includes $5.00 in Play Points.  They work just like the Play Pass cards but you wear them on your wrist.  After the initial purchase you will be able to add either Play Points or time to the Play Pass bands, in accordance with, and subject to, these terms and conditions.

Adding Play Points or Time to Your Play Pass Cards

You may add either Play Points or time to your Play Pass at a kiosk or cashier station by paying with cash, or credit/debit cards.   Chuck E. Cheese tokens may not be used to add Play Points or Time to your Play Pass Card(s). Some amounts are not available at a kiosk, so please see an Authorized Employee at a Participating Location. The billing descriptor you will see on your credit/bank statement will be portrayed as “CHUCK E CHEES PLAYPASS”

Playing a Coin Action Game

Coin action Games (e.g., Smokin’ Token) can be played by tapping your Play Pass on the Game’s card reader. If you purchased Play Points, 1 Play Point will be deducted from your card and a token will be dispensed from the Game so you can play the Game.  If you purchased time, a token will be dispensed as soon as you tap your Play Pass.

Play Points do not expire

The Play Points you purchase do not expire, are not subject to a maintenance fee and are stored on your Play Pass.

Combining Play Points from Multiple Play Pass Cards

You may combine Play Points from any number of Play Pass cards onto one Play Pass. The Play Pass card used to transfer Play Points to another Play Pass will contain a zero balance after the transfer but will remain active to allow for additional recharges with no additional fee.

Checking Your Play Points or Time Balance

Your Play Points balance displayed at each Game only shows your Play Points balance for the Play Points type used and may not reflect your entire Play Points balance on your Play Pass.

You may check your Play Points balances by going to an Authorized Employee, kiosks throughout Participating Locations or on the play pass page.

In addition, you can check your Game play at Participating Locations’ kiosks.

When the display window at the Game reads “Low Balance,” this means that the Game costs more Play Points than remain on your Play Pass; however, you may have enough Play Points to play another Game that requires fewer Play Points to play. Therefore, you should check your Play Pass balance and go to the Front Desk for a Game List to determine which Game you can play for the amount of Play Points that remain on your Play Pass. If you do not have enough Play Points on your Play Pass to play any Game on the Game List provided, you can recharge your Play Pass or transfer the remaining balance to another Play Pass.

Tickets

At this time, ticket balances are not currently captured on Play Pass cards. Paper Tickets will continue to be dispensed at each ticket dispensing Game. If you win Tickets, you may take the Paper Tickets to our Ticket Muncher which counts your Paper Tickets and dispenses a receipt displaying the total number of tickets you inserted (“Winner’s Receipts”).

Based on pricing and availability of merchandise in the Merchandise Counter at Participating Locations, you may not have enough Tickets to redeem for any item. In addition, you may have Tickets remaining after redeeming for item(s) from the Merchandise Counter that are insufficient to purchase additional items. Your unredeemed Paper Tickets/Winner’s Receipts may be saved for future use.

Tickets/Winner’s Receipts do not have a cash value and may not be refunded or exchanged for cash. Tickets/Winner’s Receipts are not transferable.

Tickets/Winner’s Receipts never expire, have no maintenance fee and can be used at any Participating Location.

Tickets/Winner’s Receipts that are (a) wet, altered or defaced in any way, (b) appear to be counterfeit, or (c) do not contain evidence that they were dispensed by a Game or Ticket Muncher at a Participating Location, will be confiscated and not accepted for redemption.

Tickets/Winner’s Receipts are not valid in the online store.

Cancellation

Chuck E. Cheese’s may suspend or terminate your Play Pass and revoke or limit any or all of the rights and privileges granted to you at any time without notice, liability, reimbursement or compensation. Termination may result from your fraudulent or unauthorized use of the Play Pass or violation of these Terms & Conditions. If we terminate your card with cause, all Play Points and time will be voided and may not be used. You will receive no compensation from us for voided Play Points or time. If we terminate your Play Pass without cause, we will refund or issue store credits equal to the balance of Play Points or time purchased/held in your Play Pass account less any amounts that you may owe Chuck E. Cheese’s.

Billing Errors and Corrections

We reserve the right to correct the balance of your Play Pass if we believe that an error has occurred. If you have questions regarding your transaction history, or if you dispute any transaction or correction that has been assessed against your Play Pass, please call Guest Relations at 1-888-778-7193, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST, or online on our contact us page.

Choice of Law

Arbitration Rights/Waiver of Rights

Any dispute or claim made by you against us (or against any of our subsidiary, parent or affiliate companies) arising out of or relating to these Terms & Conditions or your use of your Play Pass (whether based in contract, tort, statute, fraud, misrepresentation or any other legal theory) will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under the AAA Commercial Rules and Consumer Related Supplementary Procedures (except that Rule C-4 related to the appointment of an arbitrator will not apply and the arbitrator will be chosen under Rule R-11) before one (1) neutral arbitrator licensed to practice law for at least fifteen (15) years at the AAA offices nearest the location where you purchased your Play Pass, except that (a) you may take claims to small claims court if they qualify for hearing by such a court, or (b) you or we may choose to pursue claims in court if the claims relate solely to the collection of any debts you owe to us. However, all claims (including those claims that are subject to arbitration and those claims that can be prosecuted in a court of law and regardless of whether the claim is brought in an arbitration or in a court of law) must be brought on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding, and you hereby waive any claims for punitive damages and any right to pursue claims on a class or representative basis.
